Hi, I’m Katrina the director of Dogs & Duvets.
From a young age I had a huge passion for animals but especially Dogs! I have a Welsh Collie called Kyra who is my inspiration.
When I left school, I studied Animal Management and Business Studies. I focused my career on animal care ever since and have worked at Pets at Home, Dogs Trust, Donkey Sanctuary and Medivet.
I now work part time (20 hours a week) at Greenside Referrals as a Hydrotherapist, during this time and after speaking with owners, it became clear that some dog owners were struggling to find a caring environment that supported dogs with special needs so I was inspired to create a business to meet these needs so all owners and dogs get the break they deserve and so Dogs & Duvets was born!
The business is run from my dad’s property (I live a 2 minute walk away) as this provides more space and a large secure garden area, and we also have a family owned secure private field nearby which can be used to allow those dogs who need a little more freedom to explore the environment for new "sniffs"!
I only take one dog at a time (unless a family group) but my dad's dog Zoomie will be around and about, offering her support too!

Hi, I’m Oliver (Katrina’s father)
I love animals and currently have a Labrador called Zoomie who is great with all Dogs and Humans alike.
After a long career in IT I retired in 2024 and now feel it’s time to take on another challenge and when my daughter asked for my support in opening a business taking care of dogs, I of course jumped at the chance of joining her in her new venture. I am looking forward to working with all our customers. Your dog will be in safe hands while Katrina is working at the Vets.

Professional Expertise
I work as a Hydrotherapist in a local Veterinary Referral Centre and collaborate closely
with the physiotherapy team there. This enables me to undertake any home exercise rehabilitation routines recommended by your vet. I am able to take your
dog to any vet appointments.
Pre-Booking Information
Before your dog stays with us, we have a simple two-step process to make sure they feel completely at home.
Step 1: Meet & Greet — We’ll arrange a short visit so your dog can explore the space, meet us, and ensure that they’re comfortable in our environment (free service).
Step 2: Trial Night — If the meet and greet goes well, we’ll book a trial overnight stay. This helps us to see how your dog settles and ensures they’re relaxed and happy before a longer booking (£30).
These steps help us provide the safest, most comfortable home-from-home experience for your dog.
